Indolmycin (TAK-083), an antibiotic , is a competitive inhibitor of prokaryotic tryptophanyl-tRNA synthetase (TrpS) . Indolmycin (TAK-083) possesses both anti-viral and anti-bacterial activity [1] [2] [3] .
Indolmycin was bacteriostatic and demonstrated good activity against MSSA (methicillinsusceptible Staphylococcus aureus), MRSA (methicillin-resistant S. aureus) and VISA (vancomycinintermediate S. aureus), including strains resistant to mupirocin or fusidic acid. Indolmycin MICs for 20 strains ranged from 8 to 32 mg/L, whereas a single strain exhibited high-level resistance (MIC 128 mg/L) [2] .
MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.
