Description

Benzyl benzoate (Ascabiol, Novoscabin, Scabitox, Benzoic acid benzyl ester) is one of the older preparations used to treat scabies. Scabies is a skin infection caused by the mite sarcoptes scabiei.

In vitro

Benzyl benzoate possess oestrogenic activity in MCF7 human breast cancer cells in vitro. It is able to increase the growth of oestrogen-dependent MCF7 human breast cancer cells.
