Inhibition of the P38 kinase activity using 0.5 μM PD169316 significantly changes the proliferation rate and extent of apoptosis; the effects of 0.2 μM PD169316 are not significant. The level of P-STAT1 (Tyr701) decreases with 0.5 μM PD169316, which is probably due to P38 inhibition.
